Number 14

A velvet rain
A silvery haze
I stare into the darkness
With an unbroken gaze

The rain tickles down
The broken trees
Streams overflow
Like wild seas

In the distance I see a rider
Drab and dark
Riding up on his horse
Its side with a bloody mark

The rain clouds my sight
But I can still see
Hes riding fast and swift
Riding straight at me

His helmet gleams
With the light of the moon
His sword twinkles
Anticipating my doom

The horse gallops fast
With an echoing sound
He stops and turns behind
What has he found

He pulls out something
And shows it to me
I don't see what it is
But I start to flee

I see him riding
Next to me
Raises his sword
So let it be

He pulls his horse
In my path
Stopping me there
To await his wrath

I close my eyes
Squeeze them tight
Give up this battle
Without a fight

I stand there and wait
For his sword to come down
I slowly open my eyes
With a slight frown

He sits there and stares
Down into my eyes
Seeing my pain
And silent cries

A small evil smile
Spreads across his face
His vampire sharp teeth
A memory I want to erase

He reaches back
And pulls out the thing
A feeling of dread fills me
When I see all the happiness it brings

You hold in your hand
The head of a girl
Her hair golden yellow
Skin white as a pearl

Eyes of emerald green
Lips of blood red
I finally realize
This is my head

My hand raises up
Feels my cheek
It all comes back
Its no longer bleak

I remember the wind
Running through my hair
Head out the window
So unaware

I heard the train
As we rode by the tracks
I didn't see where it was
Then there was a smack

The next thing I saw
Was this forest of fear
I stare at his face
And wipe away a tear

Where am I
I ask voice high as a bell
Your voice low and deep
Answers Hell

You tilt your head back
Laugh loud and clear
I start to cry and tremble
Filled with unbroken fear
