Eternal Bliss

by Mishel   Oct 23, 2004

The sky is black.
The moon shines bright,
Like a spotlight on an empty stage.
The wind blows a breeze,
More frequent than sporadic.
You lie on your back.
Your eyelids heavy.
I whisper in your ear,
And watch as a single tear silently falls.
The leaves dance around us.
Your face glows brightly.
Minutes pass before you open your eyes again.
I notice how hard it is to keep them open,
So I put my hand over them.
I watch as you gather your strength to place your hand over mine.
The tears seep through my fingers and down your cheeks.
Your breathing gets heavy,
And you find it harder to do it at all.
As I take my hand off your eyes you turn your head towards me.
And start to pull me closer.
As your lips touch mine I start to cry.
I lay there for many minutes as you hold my face.
I can feel your tears wetting my hair.
I pull away and look at your face.
It still had that twisted look of pain and sorrow,
But also I could tell you understood me.
As you turned your head back and closed your eyes.
I lean over to whisper the last words you would ever hear.
As I lifted my head I took knife out of your chest,
And started to rise.
My tears start to fall again as your breathing starts to stop,
And I close my eyes and lift knife to my throat.
This was going to be eternal bliss.
You and me...
Together...
Forever...
