The Rain

by Mishel   Oct 23, 2004

My room is dark,
I can hear the rain dance on the roof.
I look at my clock,
Oh, no it's almost midnight.
He'll be here soon.
I gotta hide.
I don't wanna cry tonight.
I don't wanna fight and I don't wanna feel the pain.
I run to my closet and shut the door,
Hoping he'll forget to come tonight.
Minutes pass and I became more anxious.
Right before I open the dorr I hear his heavy footsteps down the hall.
The tears start to fall as the handle of my door starts to turn.
He's in my room now,
Lookin for me.
As my closet door starts to open I lower my head into my lap.
I hear him laughing under his breath.
He goes to shut my door and I can hear him as he starts to take off his belt.
He reaches into the closet and rubs my head.
He tells me how soft my hair is and how he wants to smell it.
He grabs my arm and I reluctantly rise.
I come out of the closet and wipe my face.
He holds me close to him and starts rubbing my back.
As he pulls my nightgown up I start to retreat,
But I don't get very far.
He pushes me on the bed and climbs on top of me.
In my ear he whispers how good I feel and how pretty I am.
The pain starts to kick in as he starts to tear off yet another nightgown.
I start to cry out but his heavy slap hushes me.
He pushes harder and harder,
And the pain comes with more force.
Right before the pain becomes unbearable, he stops.
He kisses my cheek and tells me I've been a good girl.
As he shuts the door behind him I pull my covers to my chin and start to cry.
Another night of pain gone to far.
I pray to God to take my soul.
The last thing I hear as I drift off into blackness is thr rain dancing on my roof.
Oh, the rain.
It is music to my ears.
