No matter how hard I try
Every day and every night
The image of your face, it lies
Deep within a haunted mind

Watching you from far away
You never even looked my way
This pain, it hurts too much; I pray
That all of it will go away

Every night I lie awake.
I’ll do anything that it takes
To free me from this heart that aches

But I try… and nothing works
I cry and cry… but it still hurts
