Whatever

by Mild insomnia   Oct 25, 2004

You told me things, you shouldn't say,
You brought me back, to that one day,
I'm so involved I can't get away.
Back to the past, I think the same,
Still feel the things, my heart won't change,
No matter how I try, to have it my way.

And whatever I say,
Or whatever I do,
However I try,
I'll never be rid of you.

You twist and turn, and play your games,
You make the sun shine through the rain,
It's so enticing I can't get away.
Nowhere to run, nowhere is safe,
I feel it burn, through all the pain,
No matter how I try, to have it my way.

And whatever I take,
Or whatever I prove,
However I lie,
I'll never be rid of you.
Whatever I brake,
Or whatever I lose,
However I cry,
I'll never be rid of you.

Oh, the memories live on,
My peaceful dreams - they haunt,
Confusing what I have and want.
Oh, they dance around my mind,
My doubts are now entwined,
Flash backs and fears combined...

And whatever I fake,
Or whatever I chose,
However I die,
I'll never be rid of you.
