Give

The majority of society
Cannot submit poetry

All of us here have so much privilege
Many people live in a small village
We express our problems night and day
When we do so, from the real world we stray

We’ve been handed our lives on silver platters
Only to complain about fickle matters

Many of them have no home
Many of them have little food
Many of them sadly roam

Compared to us, we appear shrewd
The comforts of a bed they never knew
And many of us seem to not have a clue

We are fed
While they starve instead
We cry about our day
While in poverty they must stay

This is a wake up call
For all who think things will fall
Appreciate what we own
Before we make our petty problems known

We need to have it understood
That we need to work for the greater good

When you are full, and have a half-empty plate
Do not throw it away, refrigerate
Any old clothes, donate
Our lives are privileged, help their fate

Love, Feel, Express, Live
Write about it,

But do not forget to give
