Elementary Song

by Amanda   Oct 26, 2004

I sing of my elementary days.
Of crayons and finger paints
Eating jello cups and Oreos;
Of my teacher’s warm and loving smile
As she watch us wash our hands.

I sing of naptime
And snuggling up with a blanket
Of laying on a mat in silence
Of hugging a fuzzy teddy bear
And falling fast asleep.

With screams and shrieks
I sing of children playing.
Swings flying high into the trees
Of balls bouncing and soaring down field.

I sing of friends that play dress-up,
Of tea parties and sleepovers.
Of girl talk and cooties,
And of icky boys and sticky fingers.

With messy hair and dirty faces,
I sing of coming home to mommy and daddy
Until we return again tomorrow!
