Story of a girl

by Shona   Oct 26, 2004

She promised herself she wouldn't break down,
Feel the pain and disappointment,
Let herself hurt that way again,
Too much agony and torment.
So she built a wall up high,
A fortress tall and strong,
To protect herself from heartache,
To stop anything from going wrong.
She lived this way for quite some time,
Afraid to lose control,
But in her fear she realized,
Her loss of life was taking it's toll.
Her fears began to give way,
To the way that things could be,
And her hopes and dreams,
She finally began to see.
She realized she couldn't protect herself,
Live in her shell for long,
She wanted to get out and experience life,
Sing a brand new song.
Everyone has bad days,
But in the end you'll see,
As she lowers the blocks inside her heart,
She will at last be free.
