Disjointed Wished

by Shædow Poet   Oct 26, 2004

Have you ever
Wanted to change?
Spread your wings
And fly away
Away from your life
To begin another day
Just the way you wanted.

Have you ever
Wished to be a mask?
Changing your facade
Becoming something in the morn
Differing at night
Your style is a mask
Your pain hidden from sight.

Have you ever
Thirsted to be someone's story?
A character of true potential
Of highlights and lows
To be someone
Someone who's needed
Or someone through pain
The knife has cut, bleeded.

Have you ever
Seen someone you envy?
A perfectionist
Who you'd wish to be
With everything you needed
Everything to wish for
Someone's thirst is quenched
Never needs any more.

Have you ever
Hoped to be someone you're not?
To put on the mask
Spread your wings and flew
Thirsted- unquenched
Envied till you withered
Have you ever
Wanted?
