There he stood

by DooDee   Oct 27, 2004

A late summer breeze blew down the street
It gently brushed my hair ,helped me fight down the heat
There he stood , in his usual spot ..
With his hands in his pockets, a cigarette between his lips
He looked at me , from my eyes until my fingertips
I felt anxious and felt my cheeks turning red …
Embarrassment washed down my body , arms ,and head
I loved the way his green eyes sparkled ..
The way the breeze played with his hair, very remarkable!
I never knew his identity , not even his name ..
I didn’t care about that ! names were always the same !
I cared about the joy that he sent through my heart
The beauty he carried ,in every feature, in every part !!
I wanted to pass by him , so I changed my way home ..
Left all my friends and choose to walk alone ..
Every day he stood under that old huge tree ..
There he stood looking at me !!
But today was different than all the other days ..
Today was such a blessing, in all possible ways..
He stood smoking, trying to control his moving hair ..
I wanted to touch that black silk ! that wasn’t fair !!
We did the same (stare- without –talk- routine ) ..
But this time I noticed that his face started to beam !
His features softened and turned to a shy smile ..
Very beautiful , glowing within a mile ..
I collected my courage and replied with a grin !
I liked the guy, was smiling back
the world's greatest sin!
