Finding where I went wrong...

by Mild insomnia   Oct 27, 2004

Ever sat all the way up here?
just to make it all seem clear,
knowing that the higher you sit,
makes no diff.

Ah well, I'm up here anyway,
thinking of things that I should say,
and still feeling the same way,
as before, up here I came.

My favourite place,
In the whole of space,
Is miles above,
The people I love,
And I'm not coming down,
Until up here you shout...

I'm leaning over the edge just to see you smile,
If for a little while,
And I'm stepping too far to the bar but it's worthwhile,
I can see for miles.
Have you ever sat,
up here and noticed that,
things make sense,
from this fence,
and in this suspense,
of what comes next,
and what's already been and gone,
you know where you've gone wrong.

It's something about the views below,
or maybe the heights, I don't know,
it's just really comforting,
to sit and think.

About whatever's on your mind,
over and over, wasting time,
not caring anyway... cos it's you're life,
to throw away.

It's where I feel safe,
Hidden away,
Cos I've had enough,
Of living it's too tough,
And I'm not coming down there,
At least not via the stairs...

I'm leaning over the edge just to see you smile,
If for a little while,
And I'm stepping too far to the bar but it's worthwhile,
I can see for miles.
Have you ever sat,
up here and noticed that,
things make sense,
from this fence,
and in this suspense,
of what comes next,
and what's already been and gone,
you know where you've gone wrong.
