Friendship to love

Hundreds of miles away from me,
i think of you tonight.
I wonder if I'm on your mind,
The way that you're on mine.

I try to think of a way,
that you and me could work out.
But no matter how hard i try,
I just end up in doubt.

We live so far away,
that love wouldn't last too long.
But maybe there's some hope,
Or maybe I'm just wrong.

We've been friends over a year,
Time went by so fast.
Maybe friendship could turn to love,
Hopefully a love that would last.

I'm sorry i had to move away,
I'm sorry we lost our chance.
But please know that i still care,
maybe we could make future plans.

But until we are together,
If we ever are,
I'm more than happy to just be your friend,
Because friendship is what got us this far.
