Frozen in Time

Frozen in Time

A December dream…
A world of perfection; my ideal
Its inhabitants such a mystery
Frozen in time, a December dream

Children play, angels lay on heavenly white
A sphere without purpose, emanating an ambience so sedative
Frozen in time, a December dream

As I sit in this dark sphere, the sphere of my reality
I stare, stare at this drowning substance,
As I myself down and wallow in the air of this world.
Frozen in time, a December dream

A world, a dream, a mind of its own
The dreams of my childhood, drowned by my liquid misery
Frozen in time, a December dream

City lights come to life
Snow swirls with the setting sun
Frozen in time, a December dream

Innocent beauty within my grasp
Holding perfection in my hands
Frozen in time, a December dream

In my hands, the power to my will
of destruction and grace
Oh, and I want to get lost in this sphere
while lost in my own
Frozen in time, a December dream

[Nothing but a dream, I let go
Falling…falling…nothing but a dream; shattered
The snow ceases to swirl, children lay motionless, angels fall
All laid to rest, in liquid misery
Frozen in time, a December dream]

[Nothing but a dream, I set it down
Sitting…sitting…nothing but a dream; my ideal
Snow falls, children play, angels sing
All laid to rest, in eternal happiness
Frozen in time, a December dream]

I look up, consuming the reality of imprisonment in this sphere of reality
And leave behind a world, my ideal
Frozen in time, a December dream

Revised Version (October 29/2004)

Frozen in Time

A December dream…
A world of perfection; my ideal
Its inhabitants such a mystery
Frozen in time, a December dream

Children play, angels lay on heavenly white
A sphere without purpose, emanating an ambience so sedative supported by the loyalty of four pillars
Frozen in time, a December dream

As I sit in this dark sphere, the sphere of my reality
I stare, stare at this drowning substance
As I myself drown and wallow in the air of my world
Frozen in time, a December dream

A world, a dream, a mind of its own
The dreams of my childhood, drowned by my liquid misery
Frozen in time, a December dream

City lights come to life
Snow swirls with the setting sun
Frozen in time, a December dream

An eye, an eye into a world left behind
What was once mine, clouded and far with a plagued existence
Frozen in time, a December Dream

Innocent beauty within my grasp, gives me a blank stare
Holding perfection in my hands, the mind of a child
Frozen in time, a December dream

In my hands, the power of destruction and grace
Oh, how I want to get lost in this sphere,
While already lost in my own
Frozen in time, a December dream

*Nothing but a dream, I let go
Falling…falling…nothing but a dream; shattered
The snow ceases to swirl, children lay motionless, angels fall
All laid to rest, in liquid misery
Frozen in time, a December dream

Broken, the child weeps silently on the floor; gives me a blank stare
My childhood, now a river of tears,
seeps through my hands like mercury
Frozen in time, a December dream*

*Nothing but a dream, I set it down
Sitting…sitting…nothing but a dream; my ideal
Snow falls, children play, angels sing
All laid to rest, in eternal happiness
Frozen in time, a December dream

Frozen in time, the child smiles; gives me a blank stare
My childhood, no more than a sphere of dreams,
Trapped forever in my hands.
Frozen in time, a December dream*

I look up, consuming the reality of imprisonment in this sphere of reality
And leave behind a world -- my ideal
Frozen in time, a December dream
