I hear a sound in the hall,
Another angry fight,
I move in my bed,
Another sleepless night,
He calls her nasty words,
She screams back too,
I peek down the hall,
He hits her with his shoe,
I climb back in my bed,
I cover my small ears,
I close my eyes tight,
Slowly come the tears,
I hear him storm out the door,
She closes and locks it tight,
He'll be gone until morning,
For awhile things will be alright,
I walk from my room,
Crawl into her bed,
Wipe her tears,
And kiss her head,
Goodnite mommy,
Sweet dreams to you,
I love you mommy,
I love you too,
Dad wont be home for hours,
And I softly close my eyes,
I hate him so much,
My own daddy I despise.
