Look Deep Within

by Hannah   Oct 30, 2004

Beyond those tear stained cheeks
Is a life that's been at many peaks
Some down low and some up high
Usually they all are hard and each One causes her to cry

But she hasn't given up
No, she won't say goodbye
But for now all she can do is lie in Her bed and cry
Some people say they don't know Why She always sits and cries
But if they would look deep within
They would see through what all She has been

See this girl was once happy once Full of joy
She never treated life as if it were A toy

As a young girl she saw her father Pull a gun on his wife
Then use it to also end his life

She saw her brother hit by that car
No that's not all it went further than Just that far

She saw her sister being beat and Bruised
She saw how she was just being Used

With blood all arround
She saw red through the door
As she found her best friend
Dead on the floor

Then on her way to work oneday
The car beside her started to sway
The doctors said it was amazing She had survived
For that's the reason you shouldn't Drink and drive

Now she spends each day in her Bed
She barely has enough energy to
Even lift her head

But when you come to visit her
A smile lights up her face
She said it's by grace
She's alive today
She said it's because so many Stopped to pray for her that day.

Mind blowing from stage to finish. I love the lines

"But when you come to visit her
A smile lights up her face
    She said it's by grace
    She's alive today
She said it's because so many Stopped to pray for her that day"

This nullifies the effect of the sad story and presented you a victor. That was quite brave and great poem. Keep it up!!
