Never again (Second World War)

by Chloe   Oct 31, 2004

I am sitting here writing this poem
shocked by what I just read,
'The Diary of Anne Frank' it's called,
can't find the words that need to be said.

It's amazing how this girl was so strong,
knowing what was going on,
knowing that all of her friends at school
could be tortured or gone.

And all that time she was hiding,
was full of days with tears,
In the Secret Annexe, starving,
for so many years.

It's unbelievable how she kept her faith,
no matter what she did,
I can't imagine how she must have felt,
after all, she was only a kid.

I never thought this could happen,
but now I realize it can,
this beautiful, young girl, she had to die,
because of the cruelty of one man.

This is a book with so many feelings,
her family was torn apart,
how can people find such cruelty
in their so called hearts?

Yes, we're all different,
but we're all human beings,
we all can cry,
and we all have feelings.

Remember that you're perfect,
just the way you are,
because the beauty inside of you,
in this life will get you far.

You are amazing,
and talented too,
don't let them change you,
love you for you.
