My friend seemed depressed
I asked if he was okay
He said "I swear I'm fine"
Just give me a day
The next day came
His face had a new glow
But what I didn't know was
He was putting on a show
He was smiling and laughing
And goofy as could be
But what happened later
Almost killed me
They say that most people
Who choose suicide
Are really happy
The day before they die
They think of it as a solution
To whatever problem they may have
An alcoholic mother
Or an abusive dad
Thats how ti was for him
I guess that was his answer
He didn't stick it through
Like a patient with cancer
Thats how suicide acts
A sickness that'll never leave
Because all you want to do
Is make everyone believe
Believe that you have feelings
And a heart of gold
But you say that only to yourself
Secrets never to be told
For him its to late
But its not for all of you
Get help while you can
It's the best thing you can do
Your family may be disappointed
But thats because they care
They're just realizing
That they may no have had you there
They may cry and scream
But their thankful your alive
Please just remember
You CAN survive
