Daybreak to Sunset - It Was Only A Dream

by Colin Chau   Nov 1, 2004

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

As days pass and I long to see you again,
I forget...
I forget I see you everyday...

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

Sometimes, we're just enjoying each other's company. We laugh, talk, ask each other how we are...

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

Sometimes, we're holding hands.
Together,
watching the sunset
on a cold warm summer night on the beach
before I leave and open my eyes to another day.
That's what you've always wanted to do.

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

Sometimes, all I do is hold you tight in my arms,
just a little bit longer,
I'll be having to leave in 10 minutes
Wait, I mean 8 hours.
If only those 10 minutes
really felt more like 8 hours.

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

Sometimes, it's sadness, it's disappointment, happiness, or nostalgia. It's anything I want it to be, but just for 10 minutes, or wait, 8 hours?

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value

Shoken out of your warmth
on this perfect evening of all evenings,
I open my eyes to the searing light protruding from my window,
and the sounding alarm.

Then I remember,
this is my reality, far, far away from you.
Finding it hard to adjust each and every morning.
I accept my painful reality, but long for tonight where I can meet you at the daybreak of our beautiful dream.
"I should go, its time to go to work."

Daybreak to sunset
A roll of film, 10 minutes in length; over eight hours in value
