Death Wishlist

by Shædow Poet   Nov 1, 2004

Point the gun, hold the trigger
Feel the sweat, hear the slither
Point the gun up to your head
Bang, bang, you're dead.

Drink the acid, feel it burn
Take a few pills, swallow whole
Take more poison, fall to the ground
Painless agony, no screaming sound.

Hold the knife, slit up wards
Ignore the pleas your mother calls
Cut all ways, cut in deep
Feel the blood trickle in endless sleep.

Wrap around your neck a single chain
Pull up wards, again and again
Choke and gasp for no more air
Let your body hang free from despair.

Stand on a road, a busy freeway
No more heartache, paralyzed today
See a car traveling fast
You're free to die, happiness at last.

Or lie awake and wish to die
Shed a million tears, cry and cry
Numb your feelings, vacantly stare
It's not like anyone really cares.

I loved this poem!! It captures a wistful, suicidal emotion while still weaving up some excellent imagery. The last stanza was just a perfect wrap to the poem... well done.
