I wanted to grow up
And I finally am
I wanted to have more responsibilities
And I have them now
School was fun when I was younger
High school is a drag but I'm living
I have a job now that puts me to sleep
A little baby brother at home
Teaching me to never have my own
Life keeps going and getting harder
It never seems to end
More and more things I have to do
Waiting every move
Not knowing what is to come next
Not knowing when to stop
Friends coming and going
Thinking of the future
Sitting with the one I love
Looking into what were doing
Parents trusting me more
I wanted to grow up
I wanted to do more
I wanted responsibility
And I wanted to learn
I found out what growing up is really about
And it’s nothing what I thought
It’s not about finding things to do
It’s about finding your self
And what you’re all about
Maturity comes with age
But it also comes with knowledge
Know of what you can do
And who you can be
Will give you more than you can see
Don’t try to grow up so fast
Cause you’ll miss out on the fun
Take it day by day
And learn all you can learn
