Pray For Him

by Andrea   Nov 1, 2004

I was in the mall
When I heard a man
He was very angry
And was cursing his future plan

Curiousity consumed me
So I walked by the store
But I saw that man
Shove his son to the floor

The boy he was
No more than eight
I stared at him
And could see his fate

I watched him
Carefully stand up
Silently I feared,
But I had had enough

His expression was filled
With so much sorrow
How will he want
To live tomorrow?

Everyone saw and heard
And yet they did nothing
So for this young boy
I will do something

I felt a tight grip on my arm
It was my mother tugging me away
But I couldn't leave
This boy alone this way

Guilt rushed through me
As I didn't look back
I never want a child
To go through that

I don't know where
Or how we will meet
But I know his face
Again I will see

Now you have someone who cares
I know you will be fine
I will pray for your safety
Instead of mine

**This isn't just for the boy but for all of the people in this same sort of situation with their parents!**
