Grow

by Luke   Nov 2, 2004

When a boy grows
he develops a taste,
Not for love,
but for life,
He sees the world,
so big yet small,
An open market,
buy it all,
He learns of birds,
and of bees,
And of locks,
and their keys,
Open the door to pain

He sees the land,
He sees it all,
The Eastern spring,
The Western fall,
The towers on that fateful day,
The people who fought,
A debt to pay,
He sees the sun,
The shadows it casts,
Fire is all around,
The future is opened
by its haunted past,
The boy becomes a man
