Forever they will stay

I know that no one's life is perfect.
I know that I am cynical and sarcastic and all that is considered negative, or less than that
One day I will get past it all
And I won't be such a spoiled little brat.
This is what I'm told.

I've heard it all before.
And I know that it's true.
But every day brings a new dilemma.
I'm tired of being afraid for my friends, of the things they may do.
This is the weight of my world on my shoulders.

I know when something is wrong.
I know when to truly worry.
But when it goes on every day
And everyone else's problems make my mind blurry,
It's hard to see the day of getting past it approaching.

So let it be known to the world!
I have more on my mind
Than whats in style or what is or isn't OK to say.
I know all of the secrets that people hide behind.
They've become tangled and entwined and forever they will stay with me.
