Black veins

by ANDREA   Nov 3, 2004

In every white home
There’s a black faucet
It runs throughout the house
Without a hint of racket

Everyone will drink it’s water
It will flow through their veins
And in the midst of it all
It’ll stay with in the window panes

People will observe
They’ll make all their judgments
They’re an outsider looking in
While I muffle all their comments

You watch my viens turn to black
As it captures your attention
You think “what a sad sight”
But there’s something I didn’t mention

The other day you stopped by
And you took a drink
It was just a brief encounter
But the old u is in the sink

And I will sit and observe
I’ll be an outsider looking in
Yet all my problems are my own
Whether I lose or win
