Stranger

by Jackie Bilson   Nov 3, 2004

Hey there, stranger
Are you looking at me?
Because whenever I am near you
You seem to look up to see

Am I being conceited?
To think I've been noticed by you?
Because I'm not going to lie
I've noticed you too

For months and months I prayed
And every night I cried
That someone will unbreak my heart
And lift my soul to the skies

Are you the one I've waited for?
The one who will treat me right?
The one that God has finally sent
To kiss and hold me tight?

We've barely spoken a word to each other
Just exchanged little smiles
Eye contact that chills my spine
Haven't felt like this in awhile

I know you're really shy
And I think that's really sweet
But maybe you too are looking for someone
And destiny wanted us to meet

Is there potential joy,
In being with this boy?
Or is my heart in danger,
Of being broken by a stranger?
