Unexpected

by BabyGirl   Nov 4, 2004

Walking down the hall with his girlfriend at his side
Never did we assume what would happen later on that night
He looked at her keeping all his emotions locked up inside
And smiled when she looked at him with delight
He wanted to tell her how much he cared
How he loved her and would always be there
No one was so under prepared for what happened next
He died in his sleep, blocked artery, not very complex

The next day at school I walk in with such horror
People were crying in each and every corner
She showed up that day unexpectedly
Everyone giving her there condolences and telling her they’re sorry
They can’t put themselves in her shoes
She lost the only one she never wanted to lose
He was her first love, her first partner in crime
How much she wished she could turn back time

What gets me the most is the people who never gave him the time of day
But yet they cry their heart out when he passed away
No one really knows what his baby is going through
She just lost her first love, her man, her boo

I’m sure it feels as if your life is crashing down
But know your friends will always be around
They can’t bring him back to life, can’t put him back in your reach
But make this a lesson we wish we didn’t have to teach

I hope you keep your head held high, be strong and believe
You know that if he were with you the last thing he would want were to deceive
He loved you with more than words can tell
Now you must try your best to say farewell
