Sailor Vs God

by SWAPNIL SAWANT   Nov 5, 2004

Hope in his eyes,
Confidence in his smile,
His sail raised high,
Determination even higher,
He set to conquer the seven seas,
The world was at his knees,
Even without the wind,
His boat was touching enviable speed,
But sown was the feared seed,
That of laziness,
Which would bring the snow, hail and thunder,
With which even the best blunder,
The sailor came back-
With sails tattered,
Which would even let a storm pass through,
The boat was shattered,
With “BOOS!” Of failure the sailor was battered,
But the sailor raised his eyes,
And looked at the sun,
His eyes had a gleam,
Of which even the sun did not dream,
He raised a war cry –
“I will again try,
try till I die,
But someday God,
You too will get tired,
Because your tests have a limit,
But not my determination,
So sea, sun and sky,
I give you a caution,
Do not try me,
Or else you register a defeat! ,”

He set sail again,
And was defeated buy the rain,
And went sailing again,
But the sun had its fire red hot and glowing,
But he sailed again,
And-
This time he battled and battled hard,
But the speed of the boat never did retard,
And he conquered the seven seas,

From then he gave is determination on lease,
And god had many more defeats,
The defeats of which HE was proud .
