The Sickness Within

by Natalie Forest TL   Nov 6, 2004

She got home late,
And started to ball,
She was indeed sick afterall.

She was so smart,
But just could not stay long,
Having this sickness felt so wrong.

She loved her child and husband,
She had her life organized,
Until this day came along that she was hopitilized,

She got weaker and weaker
As the days passed on,
And sooner or later she knew she'd be gone.

She fought it through,
But could no longer suffer the pain,
She knew she had it all, nothing left to gain.

She loved her family,
But just could not deal,
Pain is all that she could feel,

So she took her pills,
The medication to help her last longer,
This was suppose to make her stronger.

But she took all of them,
In just one shot,
She was doing the right thing or so she thought.

Her kid stopped by to say hello,
...But she did not answer,
It was then everyone thought she had died of cancer.

But in reality,
That's not what happened at all,
She was just one hopeless gal,

Later on the doctor's found out the cancer could have been cured,
If only she could have endured,

She took the easy way out,
But it's life's lessons like this,
That reminds us, never to quit.
