Sea Of Lost Love

by Serena   Nov 8, 2004

Your charm was the cloak over my eyes,
A long black curtain made of your lies,
I was blinded by your every gaze
In your world I was lost in a thick foggy haze
A mist so deep, you were my only guide,
But you chose to deny me and cast me aside
I tried to find my way, while helpless and alone,
Wandering in a land both vast and unknown
After every turn, I was right back at the start,
For my only compass was a poor forsaken heart,
Your vapors sting, and my eyes start to tear,
But I travel on, as if devoid of all my fear,
I won’t let you know what you’ve done to me,
So I hide my emotions while lost in your sea,
I refuse to give up, have my fate be to drown
For with time I’ll be safe, back on solid ground
And when I’m home at last I will glance back your way,
So you’ll see this strong woman that you let get away!

The journey is hard, but you must make this trip alone,
No one can help you; you must do it on your own,
The sea of lost love can swallow you whole,
But lead with your heart and follow your soul
Gather your strength though it may be hard to do,
Muster the courage and sail straight through
