I want to make it home

by PAUL HEWSON   Nov 8, 2004

Have you walked the roadside Kurb
staggering drunk ,confused and blurred .
precarious , dangerous , full of unknown
questioning whether you even want to get home

have you cried your insides out,
held conversations when no ones about .
have you really stopped to think
whether your make it or whether your sink

i've tried many times to find a way home
so insecure so very alone
i've tried many times to find a way back ,
crawled in the rain with a head full of crack.

I've believed in god , and in god i have had faith
yet i still don't understand why my life is full of hate
i believe in most things and i know we all have it tough
but i guess i wont be home tonight coz i don't believe enough
