Life and Death

by Unseen Exposure   Nov 8, 2004

These trembling hands I wear
Have cold and bitter distaste
Viscious behaviors of tendency
Falter within the heart you misplaced

Correctional pieces of ridicule
Laugh at the mercy of regret
Peculiar mindless facilities
Places that we'll never forget

The way the night sky beat down
Covered the moon and stars
No promises for wishes
Or relief from the painful scars

Stumbling on the roots
Of the life you thought you'd left behind
But you've been walking an aimless circle
A game .. you lose, they find

Verbose words of generousity
Don't trust them!! Intentions are flawed
Remember the sorrow of fault
Management turned out a fraud

Guilt you never deserved
Has given you the extra weight
Making it difficult to walk, or run
Or even to stand up right straight

Sadness is hidden beneath
A broken and pictureless frame
Cracked and scarred glass that cuts
Each and every watering vein

Be careful where you wear your heart
Your sleeve is too easy to rip
Don't put it in a bottle of wine
It's too easy for anyone to sip

A road that I can no longer follow
Directions that make no sense
Have led me straight to a dead end
Its now a matter of life-
Or death.
