That day started out as any other,
It was finally my day out,
Just me and my brother,
He knew what drinking was all about.
We went to the first bar we saw,
He had one drink after another,
I knew he was gunna break the law,
I never knew my heart was gunna tear.
Down the dark rode he sped fast,
to drunk to know what was going to happen,
He was never like this in the past,
My heart he was going to ruin.
Up ahead I saw the truck,
I told him to hit the brake,
but he was to drunk,
I felt my body begin to shake.
The truck and us hit really hard,
but i left unscarred,
my brother was hurt,
I could tell by the blood on his shirt,
The doctor said they had done all they could,
as i realized he was gone for good,
My eyes filled with tears,
I remembered what we went through all these years.
Now he is six feet under the dirt,
I wish he was still alive,
Now you know what happens,
when you drink and drive.
