Me!

by Kris Lynn   Nov 9, 2004

One day everyone will see
Just how brilliant I can be
I'm not the same, I strive to be different
And now i'll show them, my time is well spent
It seems like its all about what you have
But I'm here to prove, it's not about that

It's about how you laugh
It's about how you smile
It's about how you make
Your life worth your wild

I dont have many "things" to show
Because all I need is what I know
I know what I like and thats what I do
And to myself I'll always be true
I don't have to impress ANYONE
I do what I do, because I have fun
I'll never make anything into what it's not
I know the value of a penny and I make do with what I've got
Ill never hurt the ones I love
And I'll always respect the one up above
And now I leave you with one last thought:
My happiness can never be bought!

A quote comes to mind when I read this: "He who dies with the most toys is still dead." Nice message, one that a lot of people would benefit from hearing and taking to heart.

I like what you're saying here, i mean the message of the poem, be yourself and be true and all that, amen sister.

The structure of the poem, and the way it flows off the tongue, at least my tongue, i think needs some work..like have yo tried speaking it out loud? Maybe you could imagine you have to read it out at a poetry night and see what changes to you might make.
