Sedated Truth

by Cantchangeme   Nov 9, 2004

Can't live, Can't seem to breathe
It's dark what people believe
It's all up to your perception
Perceptions of a fake direction
It's that old darkened corner
Where dream's seem much smaller
Whatever the world wants to be
It will try to change you and me

Isn't that sweet, Isn't that nice
Take your chance, roll the dice
It's just one chance, cant you see
It's perception changing you and me
That face hiding beneath the stairs
It's your mind that keeps it there
Wake the world then watch it die
Everything that changes you and I

Tastes so good, Tastes so fake
Watch corporate America awake
A comment laced with intention
I'm America's newest invention
Suicide rates go with business
Another forever with unhappiness
Apocalypse sat out and planned
Fathers of wars turn to sand

The sedated truth, Wasted youth
Take this vest its bulletproof
This is whatever you don't need
Killed the earth, planted a seed
Move your eyes inside your smile
Take the last chance, wait a while
Wake the world listen to it cry
Nothing will change you and I

WOW. Amazing poem. very deep and sadly true. I loved the first stanza, evrything in it is soo true, so sad. its scary what people believe, how people are misled, how ignorant some are as if they live in some sort of bubble that nothing can burst. anyways, superb poem, take care. :) xmollyxx
