My ghost

by Hether   Nov 10, 2004

He sits on the edge of my bed
Telling me how he feels
I blink and blink over again
I can’t believe this is real

He tells me that he loves me
And he’s sorry for all he said before
I want to cry as I listen
And I wonder what he’s here for

Then he says:

Flowers will die,
The sun will set
our family
Ill never forget

I want to jump up and hug him
But I don’t know if it’s him right here
I’m scared that is I touch him
He will disappear

I count all of the apologizes he said
The whole time
I listen to every word closely
Listen as his voice chimes

I wonder what he is doing here
Sitting in my room
Looking like he is about to cry
His eyes all filled with gloom

I don’t know how he is here
On this cold autumn night
But I see his long slender face
In the dim light.

For he past away in February
Months since then have past
I try to forget every night
But the memories always last

He tells me that he loves me
And not to worry about a thing
And gets up to go to the door
Then i wake up from my dream.
