A Silent Thank You

by Erica Brown©   Nov 10, 2004

The gods didn't like her,
They made her life so rough.
She was exhausted and beat.
She thought the pain was enough.

One day as she sat in shame,
You made her feel so bad,
Which wasn't any help.
Instead you her more sad.

Running off before you could explain,
She left to go end her pain.
What she planned to do,
Wasn't very sane.

She screamed in agony,
As she cried her hot tears.
For the pain was so forceful.
Mightier than anything that has happened in years.

Her time was up,
She had lived her life.
So miserable and terrible,
She held the blade of the knife.

Her tired eyes looked around her room,
Until she fell to the ground.
Everything started to blur,
Until she saw your figure standing around.

You lifted her up,
And rushed her to help.
She didn't know how to thank you,
So all she did was yelp.

To this day she is all right,
All thanks to you,
Shes still living her life.
Wishing what she did, she didn't do.

One day she will thank you,
She has a strong heart for you I don't kid,
Even if you hurt her before,
She doesn't look at that, she looks at what you did.

This poem is really neat...I noticed that you rhyme a lot with the same words...may I suggest an online rhyming dictionary? It helped me a great deal.
