Sleeping with the Angels

by Sierra Rae   Nov 10, 2004

Sleeping with the Angels
She dreams of a better life
one without the sorrow
where everything turns out right
Here she’s with more loving friends
and that one true perfect guy
they hold her in their arms
and accept when she needs to cry
They are friends who will gladly lend shoulder
friends that have that listening ear
and the advice to help her through her days
They’re the one’s who scare away her fears
this is A life with loving parents
that don’t think perfect is not enough
Parents who understand what she’s going through
and don’t but into her stuff
These Parents that tell her they love her
every morning night and day
instead of ignoring her emotions
and saying to push the bad away
These are People that understand
life isn’t as easy as it may seem
and that though she may be young
she feels worse than you or me
In her dreams these are angels
suggesting to her what to do
that will cause her light to shine bright
so she wont see the nightmares they went through
in the early morning as she awakes
she hears the sounds from her dismal life
but at night she’s sleeping with her angels
Those sweet angels who died from their lifelong strife.

Aw... sad, well written poem. You portrayed the image of perfection well, and then crushed it with how it's just fake. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant.
