Eternal Memory

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 11, 2004

I’m thinking about memory hope I remember what to say
I’m just trying to remember what I’m suppose to do today
Do you ever wonder how we remember anything anyway?
How many memories throughout time can a simple mind replay?

Think of a memory objectively largely just for fun
Would it be the size of a neuron or the size of the sun?
How many memories have there been since time was begun?
Do you think the Almighty can remember everything that’s done?

We should remember not to forget the good that could have been
In the light of truth before there was the evil darkness of sin
When there was no need of sorrow for the peace that is within
Now we need sorrow in the world for the healing to begin

In the evil darkness, the decay and rot can run mighty deep
Remember it takes the light of truth to put the decay to sleep
If we’re sorry the Lord will forget about the fruit that’s rotten
When we are forgiven we are healed and the rot is forgotten

The sorrow we feel for our weakness is the joy of tomorrow
When the healing is complete we may forget about our sorrow
Sometimes I feel so sorry but I don’t’ feel totally healed yet
If I could only be like my Lord, and remember to forget
