Little Things

by Johnny Marlin 2   Nov 12, 2004

Little Things
Are So Important To Me
In the Background
Without Being Seen

You Take Them For Granted
But Take Them Away
You Miss Them So Much
It Is Hard To Say

I Went To The Army
January Two Thousand and Three
Gave In To Society
To Be All I Can Be

The Little Luxuries
Like Privacy and Music
Are Now Just Memories
I Thought I Would Lose It

Then One Day
I Did Just That
Broke Down At Light's Out
All Alone I Sat

They Sent Me Home
After Much Delay
Three Days From Graduating
To Just Walk Away?

I Guess It Was Best
I Won't Go To War
Come To Think Of It
Why Did I Join the Core?

I'm Not Patriotic
And I Don't Want To Die
They Promise So Much
Then Again, Recruiters Lie

Thanks To My Friends
Who Went To Iraq
Fight With Honor
And Be Sure To Come Back

I know, I ramble to much, and stray from the point, but it is what it is. Hope you Like It.
