Pain and Lies

by Monica   Nov 13, 2004

Pain and lies,trouble and sin
Hiding somewhere, just beneath her skin.
She sat there crying, sorry and confused.
Why was her life turmoil,
why was she so badly abused?

No one seemed to notice,
no one seemed to care,
where she was, why she wasn't there. She locked herself away,
each and every day.

She cut herself, sometimes deep,
and just sat there, to watch it bleed.
It took her pain away, and for each cut there was a story, a cover for her cause, but no one seemed to notice for long.

One day, as she cut away, she only thought, if all the pain would go away. She was going to cut deeper and worse, but only to get caught in the act, by her sister of only nine.

She slipped and missed, the cut only a scratch. her parents worried, she would try again, but she realised someone, somewhere, did care, and was watching her from up there.

True story, this girl was me.
