For Sarah

by Stumbling Shaman   Nov 13, 2004

You smile shyly, and avert your gaze;
I'm left bewildered, as always.
My thoughts twist and writhe,
Leap ahead, fall behind;
But always returning to you,
And those warm green eyes.
Why? I try to explain
Through logic, but I can't find
The answers that I seek.
All I know is that now I can feel,
And I feel I've sunk too deep
To find peace; without you.

Tell me, do you know?
That I thank you, I curse you
With the same breath
For making me see life
Brushing away death
Twisting the knife
Exposing my heart
Leaving me in this maze
Tearing me apart
With only your hurt gaze

You brought down the wall,
That I'd spent so long behind.
I may have been a fool,
But now I am blind.
How could you know?
I never said a word.
