Dichotomy

by Stumbling Shaman   Nov 13, 2004

I am the Mage, I am the Jester.
I am the Shaman making his peace with Gaia.
I am the Charlatan with a thousand faces-
Not one truly mine.
I am free, yet I see life as a prison.
Eternal, but running out of Time.
I am content with burning ambitions
I find impossible to define.
I am one with my ambivalence,
At peace in the midst of chaos,
Waiting for silence that never seems to arrive.
I accept my inherent restlessness,
Even as my search for stillness
Abides unabated, unsated.

As I seek wisdom on my own terms,
The same old questions continue to burn.
I am a simpleton. I am a sage.
Learning more, knowing less;
Just another fool, on the Fool's quest.
