Shards of Pain

by Unseen Exposure   Nov 13, 2004

The epitome of life
Dwells in a hollow hole at the edge of night
And as the moon shines from it's vacant sky
I know I'll be alright

And as perpetual bliss awaits me
I do not move, but stand
Praying the vision will pass my eyes
And leave this forbidden land

I'm a nothing inside of a body
That's worthless and beaten by pain
Until blood pours from it's hiding
The way night brings treacherous rain

And if I were to sit on a mountain
Staring up to the stars in the sky
Making wishes upon wishes for freedom
That would peel back the skin as they pry

Deep in the sorrow of anguish
Is a melody unheard, but Divine
Held up on the walls of insanity
The brutal and butchering shrine

Hail all mighty to sadness
Drink up to the toast of forever
Become drunk on the thought of escaping
Feel the pounding headache at the words of "never"

Now, captured souls of impairment
Walk these steps, right, left, then right
Do not assume you'll be leaving
For you're mine now, don't put up a fight

Hypnotized- we follow bitter instruction
Confusion distant and forlorn
No grief, sorrow, or pain
We're numb, beaten, blatantly torn

So raise your glass to humility
And drink to all human remains
Tie a silver and gold ribbon
And hand it over in shards of pain
