A Lovers Deceit The husbands point of View

by Jacki   Nov 13, 2004

I remember when I saw you walking down the street
Every smile you gave made my heart skip beats

I finally had the courage to come up to you that day
You laugh was infectious, and we finally went out on our date

Two years later we wed in that beautiful small church
Everything was perfect, a fairy tale from a book.

We were the perfect family, an argument we never had.

For I promised you I would never be like my dad.
He always hit my mother, always made her very sad.

Things were looking up, Christmas was nearing soon
Off to your mothers, the day of tragedy and gloom.

Another motor vehicle, hit our car head on;
Leaving you in the hospital, and our child barely holding on.

The tears we cried nightly, for we can never get him back.
I got another job, I traveled so very much.

You were always there, giving me your loving touch.
OH Olivia I loved you so, what made you take it back?

Our worldly travels seized to exist, not feeling well again?
Oh naive, I shouldn't have been.

A phone call you always got when I would check in.
I got to hear you lovely voice, and the words you would utter.

I love you, now honey get to sleep.
My eyes would close and dream of you, of the brighter days.

On that tragic day, I don't believe I even told you.
I quit my job to be with you, to mend our relationship up.

I brought you some champaign, a candle, and a rose.
I wanted to see your reaction when I got home.

A noise I then heard, coming from upstairs,
The champaign bottle I dropped, my jaw hit the floor.

Upstairs I ran to see, for I knew what you were doing.
There he stood another man, jumping back into his clothes.

I thought my life was over, anger then consumed me.
A promise I once made, I now had broken.

I hit my poor Olivia across the face on purpose.
Then death you could see upon my shattered soulless eyes.

I swear though, I only wanted to hurt him.
But oh my poor wife, she shot the wrong man.

"You're going to pay." Is what I told her
and left her crying there.

A story I then came up with, for she was still my wife.
Prison time I believed just wasn't the answer.

I told her what to say, when the cops came over.
A man He came in the house, held my husband and I up.

Even though she cheated on me, I still loved her dearly.
I couldn't see them taking my once so perfect wife from me.

I hugged her tightly as tears fell on my shoulder.
I promise to you it will all be better.

But my heart she never tried to mend,
A beautiful life ended that day, my suicide letter you read.

I couldn't bare the pain, the sadness in her eyes
Apparently her love faded away until the end of time.

Prison she then got, when the cops found this letter.
60 years old and she'll then be released.

I"m waiting for you honey, upon the highest cloud.
And maybe in our next life,

when I see walking by; I may have a doubt that runs through the back of my mind.

But your hand I will take and you will again be my bride......
