Thanks, Willy

She walks down the street with downcast eyes;
Her only company is her tears and her cries.
As the cold rain fell on top of her head,
She was silently wishing that she were dead.
Somehow she made it to her front door.
At thirteen minutes after four.
She had just seen the love of her life,
The only man to ever make her want to be a wife.
She went to his house with a pleasant surprise;
She had lovingly baked two of his favorite pies.
She snuck inside, silent as the wind,
Then to her shock, she saw her best friend
Naked in bed, right on top of her man.
Feeling very sick, the girl turned around and ran.
She threw up twice before she got to her house,
They never knew she was there; she was quiet as a mouse.
She went upstairs and got her sleeping pills;
She threw up again and kept getting the chills.
She didn't want to think, then the pain would come.
She opened up the pill bottle, and poured out some.
She held them in her hand , there must have been ten.
She should have known that she couldn't trust men.
Something touched her hand then, it was her cat Willy.
She saw the way he looked at her and suddenly felt very silly.
The simple act of this innocent little creature;
She never thought that her cat would become her teacher.
To end her beautiful life because she dated a fool
And had a stupid best friend, what a dumb thing to do.
It would hurt for a while but she knew she'd recover.
She kissed Willy on the head and went to call her brother,
To pay her scum ex boyfriend a visit if he were in the neighborhood
Then she went to bed, hugging Willy and feeling really good.
