Forgo

by Cristina   Nov 14, 2004

One look, one stare
One word, one phrase
One secret, one promise

An unfinished laugh
A failed thought
A misconceived idea

When the bandages can’t hold
The smile is no longer there
And the hope to go on is in desolation

When irony is only left
A lesson taught more then once, can arise
And never be denied

A beautiful rose, now rotting away
A precious diamond regretting its sage
Finding a reason to look away

The clock’s still ticking
There’s an empty hall, inhaling darkness
Echoes of heartbeats, essence of souls

Running to the present, after chasing the past
A blurry reflection fading
Rain pouring as thunder rumbles,
And lightning shatters broken glass
