Listen

Why don’t we listen
To the painful cries
Of those around us
As each soul dies

Deep within
Each unemotional clone
Each one sinks
With hurt to the bone

If we cared about each other
And felt the same pain
By listening to each other
We’d have the whole world to gain

But we still listen
To only one mind
Pleasing ourselves
No longer kind
