Missing Link

by Shana   Nov 14, 2004

How do we know the things we know?
Can one discovery change the way we think?
If you know please tell me so
Will we ever find this missing link?

Did we evolve from apes?
Is there really life in outer space?
Where is Osama when he films those tapes?
Have you ever seen gods face?

Where do we go after we die?
Is Bigfoot a big joke?
Is this all just a lie?
Have you seen the true man under his cloak?

What about crop circles that show up?
Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide?
We must look at the facts closeup
Will all the answers coincide?

Will these questions be answered?
Are we just a little slow?
Will they be left unanswered?
Is the one who knows all, just an average Joe?
Who knows,
Who knows...

    suggestions:

    1) line 2 of second stanza: a bit messy. try taking out the "really" sounds better

    2) lines 1 and 3 in last stanza are basically the same... asking if something will be answered, then asking if it will be left unanswered is pretty much synonymous.

    3) next time try to keep consistent with the number of words u have per line.. follow a pattern, like ABBA or ABAB.

    what i LIKED:

    1) i like the tone and my reader response was positive

    2) this is very post-modern thinking

    3) the moral of the story is...

^^my interpretation of the end. i like the open-endedness of it
