Life Of The Dragon

by Johnny Marlin 2   Nov 14, 2004

In The Dark Of Night
I Fly Through The Trees
A Warm Summer Night
And The Calming Breeze

At Peace With The World
I Am Happy At Last
Thank God For A Break
And A Chance To Relax

I Fly Through The Clouds
And Then Back Down Again
There Is No Way To Explain
The Ecstatic Mood I'm In

Peaceful and Content
For Once In My Life
No Reason To Worry
About Upcoming Strife

I Land In A Clearing
And Examine This Place
The Redwoods and Sycamore
The Stars Up In Space

Lay Hy Head Down
To Take A Short Nap
Sleeping Outside
When I Awake To A Clap

The Skies Have Parted
And The Lightning Comes Down
But Regardless I'm Happy
No Reason to Frown

Then I See
What Lies Before Me
An Army Of Cavaliers
Sent Out To Destroy Me

I Try To Lift My Wings
Sorcery Holds Me To The Ground
And Before I Know
I'm Staring At A Hell Hound

At Least I Was At Peace
Just Before I Died
I Should Have Know
The Old Man Had Lied

He Lied When He Said
This Was A Gift That I Wanted
The Spirit Of The Dragon
Has Only Left Me Hunted
