Chain of Misery

by Rachel   Nov 15, 2004

I sit here everynight
And I pray that you will call,
But all you've ever done
Is lead me through dark halls.

I love everything about you,
You're even in my dreams,
I vision myself marrying you
Always knowing how it will really be.

You'll find some other girl
Or perhaps you already have,
And sweep her off her feet
And forget all about what we could've had.

But you never cared much
And it's took me a long time to see,
As much as I think about you,
You never think of me.

It's been two months to the day
Since I talked to you last.
You blamed me for a lot of things
That have never come to pass.

But no matter what you say
And no matter what you do,
No matter how much I cry at night,
I'm still in love with you.

Technically speaking, this poem was pretty good. There are a few problems concerning how uniform the rhythm is. Anyhow, that out of the way (I usually start comments with actual critiques), I thought this was a good poem. I really do know the experience you are talking about, and hearing the same experience from a different person's perspective is always enlightening!
